What's the difference between an electric hammer and a percussion drill? Electric hammer and hammer drill are two kinds of tools we all use in decoration, but many people have difficulty in choosing electric hammer and hammer drill. Electric hammers operate mainly by spinning and hammering. A percussion drill relies on rotation and impact to work. A single impact is very slight. Electric hammers require minimal pressure to drill into hard materials compared to a hammer drill.
We cannot avoid the use of various tools in the decoration. Electric hammer and hammer drill are two commonly used tools, but because they are very similar in appearance, it increases the difficulty of our tool selection. In fact, we can choose from the working principle and use of electric hammer and hammer drill. Today we will share with you the difference between the electric hammer and the hammer drill
Electric hammer and percussion drill difference:
1. Different concepts
A percussion drill works by rotation and impact. A single impact is very slight, but a continuous force can occur at an impact frequency of more than 40,000 times per minute.
An electric hammer works by spinning and hammering. Individual punching forces are very high, and with a punching frequency of 1000 to 3000 per minute, significant forces can occur. Electric hammers require minimal pressure to drill into hard materials compared to a hammer drill.
2. Working principle
During the operation of the impact drill, there is an adjustment knob at the drill chuck, which can be adjusted in two ways: the ordinary electric hand drill and the impact drill. However, the impact drill uses the gears on the inner shaft to beat each other to achieve the impact effect, and the impact force is far less than that of the electric hammer. It can also drill reinforced concrete, but it is not very effective.
The electric hammer uses the motor at the bottom to drive two sets of gear structure, one set to realize it drilling, and the other set to drive the piston, like the hydraulic stroke of the engine, producing a strong impact force, with the effect of drilling, the force can split the stone and divide the gold.
3. Different uses
In addition to drilling metal and wood, a percussion drill can also drill holes on brick walls, ordinary concrete, and natural stones. However, if reinforced concrete is poured, it is difficult for a percussion drill to drill holes, and the percussion drill cannot penetrate walls.
Electric hammers are mainly used to drill holes in concrete, floors, brick walls and stone. Note that choosing electric hammer processing tile surface is easy to break the tile. Therefore, the hammer drill is more suitable for home use, while the electric hammer is more suitable for professional work. You can consider the actual use when choosing.
Generally speaking, if a percussion drill is 6-700W, the size of the hole it can drill depends on the size of its supporting drill bit. In general, the maximum diameter is 5 cm. A percussion drill works by rotation and impact. A single shock is very mild, but a frequency of more than 40,000 shocks per minute produces a continuous force. A percussion drill can be used in natural stone or concrete.
